Day 1

We declare the XIX edition of GalMUN officially opened! This is basically how the first day started, a simple yet epic start. The opening ceremony included the General Assembly presenting their speeches and our fellow ambassadors briefly covering all the topics at hand.

After a short coffee break, the Mock Debate started just to warm up and prepare the delegates for the upcoming days. The first part of the debate focused on whether or not Tzancă the Uragan should be our president, the perfect topic to lighten up the mood.

Day 2

First Committee

We started our day with the typical roll call (one that could dethrone the iconic invitation into the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse)

Opening speeches highlighted the importance of developing cyber security amidst advancing technology. The integration of cutting-edge technologies like blockchain systems was emphasized, along with considerations about effective money management and the potential impact of AI on job markets.

China, for instance, advocated for the use of fintech, while Japan proposed implementing permissioned blockchains to increase security. Germany presented a new program aimed at managing AI and enhancing its systems. The USA’s speech focused on implementing blockchain systems, combatting hackers, and regulating digital tokens to ensure a secure digital landscape.

✨ Punishment TIME ✨

After a small tea situationship between The USA and China, the moment finally came: Punishments :)

The delegates that overly used ‘I’ on the floor ended up on the ‘’naughty list’’ and had to do a little Just Dance challenge, that really showcased the true ‘’Rich Girls’’ that they are.

Second committee

Moving on to our second committee, discussions centered on the risks and benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) implementation. It was unitedly agreed that while AI presents significant potential, it must be treated as a tool rather than a decision-maker. To reduce potential risks, emphasis was placed on utilizing AI primarily for tasks such as financial forecasting, fraud detection, and risk management, where its analytical capabilities can be used effectively. Additionally, concerns regarding AI’s potential to replace human jobs were addressed by featuring the importance of reskilling and upskilling programs to adapt to the changing technological scenery.

We ended the meeting addressing some lighthearted topics, including culinary criticism and matrimonial gossips.

Regarding the culinary criticism, concerns were raised about the tasteless rice and oily snitzel being served at lunch break, but overall highly appreciated. In the realm of matriMUNiale, discussions revolved around international relationships, such as those between the queens USA and China, as well as Argentina and Sweden. ( about which we even read fanfics, so stay tuned! )

Third Committee

I don’t know if it’s just me but it feels like mercury is in retrograde or something. From socket crisis, all the way to aggressive curtains and the unbearing heatwave, we had it all.

As usual, the USA opened the GSL with yet another speech about the blockchain system ( at this point we should make it our trademark for real ). Participants then engaged in a moderated caucus to address the pressing topic of preventing cyberattacks. The discussion emphasized the vital importance of transparency, efficiency, and accountability in combating this growing issue. One proposed solution involved investing in blockchain research, recognizing its potential to enhance cybersecurity measures. Additionally, it was suggested to advise the population on preventive measures against cyberattacks, emphasizing the significance of education and awareness.

Forth committee

We started with our second round of punishments: Placard Rasing featuring our esteemed delegays, sweet chairpersons, and even staff members. Following, after we almost caused an electrical outage, the topic shifted toward data cubes. Mother China made a creative presentation on the topic using colorful cards to explain their stance.

Well besties, this is where it gets really interesting. Ladies and gents, take a seat, grab your popcorn, and let’s dive into what seemed like the longest Q&A ever witnessed at a MUN. After a few failed motions we finally settled on a Q&A session with the delegate of China on the topic of The implementation of data cube. To say that they slayed this would be an understatement. Not even the endless disruptions or noisy background sounds could stop them. Their speech was so impeccable there were 3 full rounds of questions, indicating the highest point of activity of our entire committee.

Fifth committee

As we’re approaching the end of the day, our final committee session was solely based on gossips and a last placard rising motion ending with the delegate of Russia receiving the victory.

To pass the time, our lovely DSG Rares read some intriguing fanfictions featuring the love triangle between China, USA and Japan along with Argentina and Sweden.

Day 3

After a slay social, here we are on the third day of our distinguished MUN!

Today marks the glorious return to our riveting committee sessions, with intriguing gossips and funny moments. With the MUN clock ticking halfway, there’s no need for mundane introductions so let’s just dive right into the heart of the action, shall we?

Our esteemed delegates took the floor, engaging in a lively yapping session as they tackled topics ranging from workforce optimization to cybersecurity enhancements. However, right in the middle of the excitement, the hush of anticipation fell upon us as the delegate of Micronesia (represented by our lovely chairperson Celeste), took center stage. With the determination of a true capricorn, they passionately advocated for the adoption of cutting-edge solutions, urging the delegates to embrace fresh alternatives over outdated systems like the data cubes.

Towards the end, we had our tour de table, and finally an unmoderated caucus on the topic of starting the resolution :)

Meanwhile, the press had a very relaxing nap time with WII music and the Subway Surfers soundtrack playing in the background.

Day 4

Welcome back darlings, to the fourth day of GalMUN, a last chance for the delegates to shine, And you know what? They really did!

Today was pretty chill, just brushing up on the resolution and revising the other ones, followed up by the placard signing where the delegates said their heartfelt goodbyes. <3
